How to paint with lime paint?
A step-by-step plan for applying lime paint in the bathroom:
-
Substrate preparation: Ensure the substrate is absorbent and not water-repellent.
- For walls (plasterboard, non-woven wallpaper, already painted walls): Clean with Bonotools Cleaner, sand if necessary, and insulate with Primer Wall.
-
For furniture & decoration: Degrease, sand if necessary, and use Omni Hydro as a primer for wood.
-
Painting techniques and application with a brush:
- Use a Bonotools block brush. Rollers cannot be used as they cause streaking.
- First coat: Apply undiluted or lightly diluted (max. 10%). An undiluted coat ensures stronger absorption and a harder pattern, while a diluted coat yields a softer result.
-
Second coat: Dilute 10-30%, depending on the desired pattern. The more dilution, the more pattern is created. Apply the paint thinly, so the surface is not completely filled with paint.
-
Optional protection: After applying the lime paint, you need to wait a week and a half before applying Vernice Invisibile. This protects the lime paint against moisture and dirt.
