Which primer do you choose for which project?
This is how you choose the right base coat for your painting project.
A good painting job starts with a primer, or base coat. This layer ensures better adhesion, even absorption of the paint, and a durable end result, especially on new, porous, or difficult-to-paint surfaces.
Primer for walls
Primer Muur is a water-based, insulating primer specially developed for interior walls such as plaster, plasterboard, masonry, and concrete. Primer for wood, metal, and smooth surfaces
Omni Hydro is a water-based one-pot system that serves as a powerful primer and multifunctional base coat for various substrates. Primer for powdery or weak substrates

How do you choose the right primer?
Step 1: determine the material of your substrate
- Wall? Choose Primer Muur or Primer Muur Buiten.
- Wood? Go for Omni Hydro.
- Weak wall? Use Primer Fixatie.
Step 2: look at the condition of the substrate
New or highly absorbent surfaces always need a primer. Has the substrate been there for a long time or is it dirty/powdery? Then a fixation or insulating primer is extra important.
Step 3: match your topcoat
Use a base coat that matches the paint you are going to use for optimal adhesion; water-based primers, for example, combine best with water-based topcoats.
