Hoe kies ik de juiste verf voor mijn project?
De juiste verf kiezen doe je door rekening te houden met de ondergrond en de toepassing. Bepaal eerst of het voor binnen of buiten is, en welk materiaal je gaat schilderen (muur, hout, metaal, etc.). Op de Paintfactory-website en in de winkel kun je filteren op ondergrond en verfsoort om geschikte opties te vinden. Bij twijfel kun je altijd advies vragen aan de medewerkers, zij helpen je graag de beste verf voor jouw klus te selecteren.
Heb ik een primer nodig voordat ik ga schilderen?
In veel gevallen is een primer (grondlaag) sterk aan te raden. Een primer zorgt voor betere hechting van de verf en een egaal eindresultaat, vooral op poreuze of nieuwe ondergronden. Voor nieuwe pleisterwerken, onbehandeld hout of metaal bijvoorbeeld is eerst primen verstandig. Sommige moderne verven beloven zonder primer te dekken, maar voor het beste en duurzaamste resultaat is een aparte primer meestal de veiligste keuze.
Hoeveel verf heb ik nodig voor mijn project?
De benodigde hoeveelheid verf hangt af van het oppervlak dat je wil schilderen en het rendement van de verf (m² per liter). Gemiddeld dekt 1 liter muurverf zo’n 8 à 10 m² bij één laag. In de praktijk voorzie je best twee lagen, dus reken ongeveer 1 liter per 4–5 m² voor een dekkend resultaat. Wat is het verschil tussen watergedragen en solventgedragen verf?
Watergedragen verf (ook wel acrylverf) is verf op waterbasis: ze droogt snel, is geurarm en beter voor mens en milieu. Solventgedragen verf bevat klassieke oplosmiddelen en wordt vandaag nog maar zelden ingezet.
